A man who is accused of trying to meet a 14-year-old girl for sex in a hotel was confronted by paedophile hunters in Hull city centre.

The group Predator Exposure pounced on the alleged paedophile at the Paragon Interchange in Hull last Saturday.

It is alleged that the man, who was going under the name Steven, was going to take the girl to a nearby hotel.

The hunters claimed that the man, who denies the allegations, was even going to ask the girl – who did not exist – to pay half the hotel bill.

The man then claimed to the hunters that he was on his way to cancel a hotel booking.

Before police arrived, the hunters warned viewers not to approach the man if they knew him.

Police arrested the man under section 15 of the Sexual Offences Act 2003 and he was led to a police car just outside Superdry in Ferensway.

After the Facebook post, the group posted an update that said the man ‘is now in custody and will remain there for now.’

The group is based in Leeds, West Yorkshire.
