Pete Buttigieg eats his cinnamon roll like a chicken wing

‘This is traumatizing!’: Pete Buttigieg horrifies Twitter by cutting up his cinnamon roll into small pieces and eating it like a CHICKEN WING

  • Pete Buttigieg was on the campaign trail in Iowa earlier this week when he was pictured diving into the plate of cinnamon rolls
  • He was photographed by a reporter from Eater who was tailing Buttigieg for a story on his campaign trail diet
  • Horrified Twitter users quickly pointed out that Buttigieg appeared to have used a knife and fork to cut his roll into bite-sized pieces
  • They were even more outraged, however, when they noticed him biting into the treat as if it were a chicken wing

Democratic presidential candidate Pete Buttigieg has been snapped eating a cinnamon roll like a chicken wing – and horrified Twitter users have, unsurprisingly, blown up about it.

The mayor of South Bend, Indiana was on the campaign trail in Iowa earlier this week when he was pictured diving into the plate of cinnamon rolls.

He was photographed by a reporter from Eater who was tailing Buttigieg for a story on his campaign trail diet.

The photo immediately started making the rounds on Twitter after it emerged on Thursday.

Horrified Twitter users quickly pointed out that Buttigieg appeared to have used a knife and fork to cut his roll into bite-sized pieces.

They were even more outraged, however, when they noticed him biting into the treat as if it were a chicken wing.

‘I don’t care what your politics are, it is illegal to cut a cinnamon roll into pieces with a knife and then eat it like a chicken wing,’ one person tweeted.

Some called the consumption method ‘deeply disturbing’, while others questioned how he could be trusted to run the country.

Buttigieg’s senior adviser Lis Smith joined in with the Twitter back-and-forth on Friday when she posted a photo of a tray of chicken wings on his campaign bus.

She tagged the Eater reporter Gary He saying he was missing out on Buttigieg food content.

‘Uh oh, looks like @garyhe is missing some good @PeteButtigieg content today in NH. Don’t worry… these are actually chicken wings,’ she tweeted.

The cinnamon rolls in question were eaten by Buttigieg on Sunday when he’d stopped off in the small town of Decorah in Iowa.

He had actually tweeted out a photo of the tray and described them as ‘ridiculously good’ before he got to eating.
