Peter Crouch makes surprise confession he starred in SpiceWorld after entering a ballot to be part of the film as he’s a huge fan of band
Peter Crouch confessed he is such a big fan of Spice Girls, he entered a ballot to part of their movie SpiceWorld.
The footballer, 42, said when he was 17 he was desperate to be part of their film and dragged his little sister Sarah along to make her look like the superfan instead.
Peter’s wife Abbey dropped the bombshell on their podcast, The Therapy Crouch.
He told her: ‘It was my big break. I like the Spice Girls. I was a fan of the Spice Girls, you know, as we all were.
‘Let’s not pretend. They were filming Spice World The Movie, right, and it was at the Royal Albert Hall and somehow going in the ballot, I got tickets for it.

‘And obviously I couldn’t take my mates so I thought “I’ll take my sister”.
‘She’s only like young and I was about 17 I think I was at Tottenham at the time.’
Peter previously spoke about how he went mad when 2 Become 1 came on, but as he was part of a large crowd he can’t really be seen in the film.
And it could be good news for superfan Peter as The Spice Girls could be set to reunite.
Last month it was reported the band have entered ‘advanced negotiations’ to create a jukebox musical movie.
Sources say the film will be produced by SeeSaw Films and will be a coming-of-age story about a Spice Girls superfan.
The news comes 26 years after the band’s cult classic movie Spice World was released and became a box office smash hit.
The 1997 flick saw the girls play fictionalised versions of themselves in the lead up to a major concert at London’s Royal Albert Hall.
Speaking to The Sun, a source said: ‘Everyone is very excited about this script but it will be a totally different number to Spice World.

‘The girls aren’t appearing in it, but it’s essentially a gentle, upbeat coming of age story – a jukebox musical – about a kid who’s obsessed with the Spice Girls.
‘Style-wise, it is very much like Take That’s recent Great Days movie which was adapted from their stage show. It will be endorsed by the band – all five have signed off on the project- and it will feature several of their songs.’
MailOnline has contacted representatives of the Spice Girls for comment.
They add that Geri Horner is leading the charge and speaking to the producer regularly and that she is eager to make the film a hit.
The band will be hoping the proposed film is more successful than their ill-fated West End musical, Viva Forever.
The jukebox musical opened in 2012 and received huge negative reviews from critics.
It was announced in May 2013 that the show would close after only seven months, with a loss of ‘at least £5 million’ due to poor ticket sales.
The movie news comes after Geri shut down rumours that the Spice Girls will reunite to perform at Glastonbury next year to mark their 30th anniversary.
