Shocking! Liam swore his way through his time on stage, before hurling his microphone and award into the audience , following which Peter branded him a ‘k***head’ for his behaviour
Peter recalled the shocking 2010 incident in his newly-released autobiography, T.V.: Big Adventures On The Small Screen.
The comedian wrote: ‘Liam Gallagher won an award. He swaggered on stage to collect it, then threw it into the audience and walked off.
‘He could have hit somebody in the face with it. What a k***head, I thought. So I said just that when I walked back to the mic ‘what a k***head.’ ‘
‘I wasn’t trying to be controversial, or stir trouble, I just said what was on my mind. That might be the reason why I’ve never been invited back to present the Brits again.’
MailOnline has contacted The BRIT Awards for comment.
At the time of the on-stage clash, their public fallout continued when Liam took to Twitter soon after to hit back at Peter’s criticism
The singer tweeted: ‘Listen up fat f***. As a real northerner I was brought up 2 say s**t 2 people’s faces not behind their back. Live forever LG’. [sic]
Peter then responded to Liam with sarcastic humour, by sharing an update with fans on his website, writing: ‘So it was the BRITs last night and I was honoured to be asked to host the show especially with it being thirty years old.
‘Congratulations to all the winners, including Noel Gallagher who sadly didn’t get a mention (and who thankfully isn’t a k***head).’
Could it be? ‘I just said what was on my mind. That might be the reason why I’ve never been invited back to present the Brits again’ said Peter of the incident in his new autobiography
