Peter Stefanovic visits luxury ‘survivalist condo’

They’re the Channel Nine power couple who tied the knot back in April.

But on Friday, Peter Stefanovic and Sylvia Jeffreys were spending time apart, with Peter visiting a ‘survivalist condominium complex’ in Kansas, America.

The telegenic journalist took to Instagram to upload a short video divulging details of the trip, which was filmed as part of an upcoming segment for 60 Minutes.

On assignment: Peter Stefanovic was in Kansas on Friday, filming an upcoming segment for 60 Minutes, as his wife Sylvia Jeffreys stayed in Sydney to host the Today Show

Standing outside the complex, named the ‘Survival Condo’, Peter explained that the unusual structure used to be a ‘missile silo’ before being re-purposed into high-security luxury apartments.

Located underground, the complex is filled ‘with tenants who are getting ready for the end of the world’.

The handsome TV star looked dapper for his reporting duties, dressed in a white button-down and black puffer jacket.

Showing his sense of humour- and his skepticism- the journalist captioned the clip, ‘It’s the end of the world this week, folks!’ Well probably not.’

He added : ‘I’m hanging with so-called doomsday preppers who have bought up multi-million dollar underground bunkers in Kansas. Fascinating stuff.’

‘Love prepper stories .. can’t wait to watch!’ one fan of the TV star gushed beneath the clip.

‘Well, Trump-proof,’ added another,  referencing the polarising American president.

Meanwhile, thousands of miles away in Sydney, Sylvia seemed downcast without her husband.

The Today co-host was seen cutting a forlorn figure on Wednesday as she departed a Sydney library laden down with loaned books on how to improve sleeping habits.
