Phaedra Parks says she hasn’t ruled out returning to Real Housewives of Atlanta

In part two of Phaedra Parks’ exclusive interview with DailyMailTV, the former Real Housewives of Atlanta star reveals she hasn’t completely shut the door on returning to the hit series

Phaedra Parks left the Real Housewives of Atlanta after starring on the hit reality show for eight years, but is now eyeing a return to the silver screen, she exclusively told DailyMailTV.

The 45-year-old said while she hasn’t ruled out making a comeback to the Housewives franchise, she does have a new TV project on the horizon.

Parks added she has no regrets during her time on RHOA but believes that to the reality show, she was just ‘a character that they’re manipulating for their own benefit.’

And as for her former co-star rival Kandi Burruss – with whom she had several on air spats and who recently vowed to leave the show if Parks returned – Parks sharpens her claws.

‘I find it amusing, because if she is that concerned about me three years later, I must have really impacted her life. So I’m glad I touched her like that,’ she said.

As for an imminent RHOA return, Parks isn’t ruling it out but smacks down the rumors.

She said: ‘I know there’s lots of rumors swirling around about me returning to the housewives, but I haven’t had any discussions about returning.

‘I never say never to any opportunities, but I had a good run and you know, I’m very happy right now.’

Reflecting on the life experiences she had while filming the show over eight seasons, she said: ‘I was on Real  Housewives for eight years. Both of my children were born on air, my ex spouse went to prison on the show.

‘I had a lot of big events happen in my life on there so I’ve got a lot of great memories.

‘I would never say never, but I’m in a very great place in my life… and you see this glow.’

Parks said the show is designed to entertain people, but ironically is nothing near ‘reality’.

‘That’s just nature of the beast, you can’t cry over spilled milk,’ she explains.

‘It is what it is. Reality shows are not real. They’re for entertainment at everyone else’s expense, except the people that make it, so you can’t regret anything.

‘You just have to accept what it is and keep it moving.’

She added: ‘I was just a character that they’re manipulating for their own benefit.’

Parks said she had a fight with someone almost every day for eight years of filming because that’s the ‘nature’ of a reality show.

Parks was also subject to numerous false allegations and claims, all done to spice things up, saying: ‘They completely made up one story that I was dating an African prince the day Apollo went to prison.

‘I was seeing some African man named Mr Chocolate while I was breastfeeding my baby, going to mortuary school, my husband’s going to prison and I’ve got a two-year-old.

‘I mean, it was the most ludicrous, crazy thing in the world. I was never unfaithful in my marriage at all.

‘But of course the show ran with it because it made for good TV.’

Parks said the producers on RHOA were ‘continually making up stuff’, to make the show more interesting.

‘That’s the essence of reality TV, they make things up to make storylines juicy.

‘People love to watch other people having very tragic, dramatic situations that are out of control because it makes them feel like their life is not half as bad.’

Parks claims she's 'happy' and 'excited' after finally hooking the guy of her dreams after a year long search of the 'man pond'. But while Parks is coy about sharing the identity of her new hunk, DailyMailTV can reveal she's in fact dating handsome actor Medina Islam (pictured together) who is ten years her junior

So what’s next for the multi-talented Parks?

‘Well, I have a new television project on the horizon,’ she reveals.

‘I can’t mention it yet, but I’m coming back to the small screen. It’s a very popular show and you get to see me in a totally different light.’

With a possible new TV show on a horizon, keeping a schedule for Parks is somewhat of a feat in itself.

Not only is she a busy mom-of-two, she is a partner in a hectic law firm in Atlanta, a celebrity and contracted model for Wilhelmina Models, and she also runs her own foundation for disadvantaged children and is heavily involved in community activism.

But on top of that – and most unusually – Parks is a qualified mortician, embalmer and funeral director as well as a certified cremator, tending to people’s dead relatives.

‘I’m keeping the dead beautiful and preserved for Jesus,’ she explains.

‘My life is very busy, I’m fully booked, everybody knows I’m a mortician and summer is the slow season.

‘I’m partnered with one of the largest funeral homes in Atlanta so I do a lot of bodies there.

‘I also go to New Orleans and do some bodies there, you know, whoever calls me, I’m a genius at it. I love it. It’s my ministry. And so if you call me, I will come because that’s my specialty.

‘I love making people look life-like and giving people the proper sendoff.’

Parks reveals she was inspired to become a mortician after one of her friends was killed in New Orleans and began volunteering at a funeral home before going to school to get qualified.

These days she gets special requests from people who know her from television to care for their loved ones in death and she claims to have buried a number of celebrities herself.

She says she wears an elegant black dress, a hat and veil and black lace gloves with the fingers cut out so she can handle the bodies.
