A Massachusetts phlebotomist working on the side as a dominatrix enjoyed a sushi dinner and sent several text messages to her ex-boyfriend’s cellphone, allegedly to establish an alibi for herself, after prosecutors say she stabbed him to death inside a BDSM-themed treehouse as a ‘surprise’ for her new boyfriend.
These revelations were made on the first day of Julia Enright’s trial stemming from the 2018 murder of 20-year-old Brandon Chiklis.
In their opening statement, prosecutors argued that Enright, 24, killed Chklis as part of a planned attack after luring him to a treehouse featuring restrains where they used to have sex as teens.
Enright’s attorney claimed in his opening remarks that she stabbed Chiklis a dozen times in self-defense after the man attempted to rape her.

Enright was arrested in late July 2018, two weeks after Chiklis’s body was found by a jogger in Rindge, New Hampshire, not far from the Massachusetts border. He had been missing for more than two weeks.
Autopsy showed that Chiklis had been stabbed a dozen times. He was then wrapped in a comforter, stuffed into two garbage bags and dumped on the side of the highway.
First Assistant District Attorney Jeffrey Travers told jurors on Monday Enright killed Chiklis, who was her former schoolmate and boyfriend, as a ‘surprise’ for her new boyfriend, John Lind, who then allegedly helped her dispose of the victim’s body, reported Telegram & Gazette.
The prosecutor quoted Enright as texting Lind on the eve of the June 23, 2018, killing: ‘do you think we could add bubbles to a blood bath?’
Moments later, Enright allegedly contacted Chiklis and invited him to come over to the treehouse the next day.

Prosecutors said Enright, who worked as a phlebotomist and also had a side-job as a dominatrix, was obsessed with sexual cutting and ‘blood play,’ and created art using animal bones.
Eight days before Chicklis was last seen alive, Enright allegedly made a failed attempt to bribe staff at a Planned Parenthood facility to let her keep her aborted fetus so she could ‘play with’ its bones.
A subsequent search of Enright’s home yielded vials of blood, several animal carcasses in various states of decomposition, a bucket of organs, a collection of used condoms and numerous knives, officials stated.
On the first day of Enright’s murder trial, her defense attorney, Louis Badwey, told jurors that his client had invited Chiklis to the treehouse to have sex with him, but then changed her mind when her new boyfriend texted her.
Chicklis allegedly ignores Enright’s pleas to stop and digitally penetrated her.
According to the lawyer, Enright then closed her eyes and repeatedly stabbed Chiklis with a knife she always carried with her.
The woman then fled the treehouse, not knowing whether Chiklis was dead or alive, according to Badwey.
She later enlisted Lind’s help to cover up the killing.
Lind has not been charged in connection with Chiklis’ murder. He was expected to invoke his Fifth Amendment right against self-incrimination if called to testify during the trial.
Prosecutors argued that after killing Chiklis, Enright washed her clothes and tucked into a sushi dinner with Lind, during which the pair concocted an alibi for her, reported MassLive.
Enright sent several text messages to Chiklis’ phone, which she had in her possession, hours after his death.
The first text, sent at 8pm on June 23, read: ‘why didn’t you show up to meet me?’

Prosecutors claimed that Enright continued texting the victim days later, asking if he was OK.
‘The messages were intended, looking forward in time, to account for her whereabouts if attention began to focus on her,’ Travers said.
According to the prosecutor, Enright stabbed Chiklis to death as a ‘surprise gift’ for Lind.
Just days later, she allegedly wrote in her journal that her boyfriend may not have liked her ‘surprise.’
The murder trial is expected to last at least two weeks.
