Phoenix Suns’ superstar Devin Booker may return against the Brooklyn Nets on Tuesday after missing five weeks with groin strain, while team is linked with several different trade targets

Phoenix Suns star Devin Booker has been sidelined for five weeks with an injured groin but could soon be set for a return on Tuesday against the Brooklyn Nets according to ESPN.

Booker has reportedly been increasing the intensity of his on the court workouts and is expected to travel with the team from the start of a five-game road trip starting on Friday on Boston.

Heading into Wednesday’s matchup against the Atlanta Hawks the Suns have a recorded of 8-10 during the 18-game stretch without Booker.

Before being hurt Booker was offering 27.1 points per game, 5.6 assists, and 4.6 rebounds per game, although he has missed a total of 23 games so far this season due to a combination of hamstring and groin tightness.

Booker hinted at his return on social media Wednesday when he tweeted out ‘Roundin 3rd’ hinting that he was almost ready to return.

Booker has been able to engage in 3-on-3 workouts with teammates but has not yet been cleared to participate in full contact 5-on-5 workouts. 

Despite not having their most dangerous player for a large chunk of the season, Phoenix has recorded a 27-25 record which has been good enough for seventh place in the NBA’s Western Conference.

The team has been involved in a large amount of trade rumors, most notably the exit of Jae Crowder who has been away from the team since training camp while awaiting for a trade. 

They have also been linked with Toronto Raptors point guard Fred Van Fleet who they team reportedly see as a long-term replacement for Chris Paul who has played below his normal level of efficiency this season.

Phoenix has also been linked with the most popular player in this years trade market in O.J. Anunoby.
