Pictured: British boy, five, who died in Magaluf after going into cardiac arrest

A five-year-old British boy who tragically died while on holiday with his family in Magaluf has been pictured for the first time, with his father paying a heartfelt tribute.

Noah Blodwell complained of a stomach ache and was reportedly vomiting before going into cardiac arrest at the four-star Sol Barbados Hotel on Friday.

Paramedics managed to recover his pulse and police closed off roads so an ambulance could get him to Son Espases Hospital in the Majorcan capital Palma as quickly as possible.

However, doctors were unable to save him and he died after an emergency operation.

Now, Noah’s parents Luke and Catherine say they had been left with a ‘massive hole in our hearts’ after watching their son pass away ‘peacefully’.

HR manager Mr Blodwell, originally from Henley on Thames and now living in Faringdon, Oxfordshire, has told friends of his ‘profound shock and devastation’.

The father-of-two, who has a daughter called Phoebe, said in a social media post: ‘On Friday we were informed that Noah had been taken seriously ill whilst on holiday with his Grandparents.

‘He was operated on by the fabulous team at Son Espases hospital and the operation went well.

‘Unfortunately, due to serious complications before and after the surgery, his body had suffered irreparable damage and sadly whilst being held by Mummy, Daddy, Nanny and Grandad, Noah passed away peacefully.

‘Although we only had him for 5.5 short years, being his parents is the best job in the world and he has been and will continue to be the best big brother to Phoebe.

‘With his passing he has left a massive hole in our hearts as well as with everyone he met.

‘We know he will always be with us and reminding us to always have fun and live life to the fullest.

‘We love you so much our darling boy – no words can describe the happiness and love you bought to us from the day you were born.’

The alarm was raised just before midday last Friday.

Island newspaper Cronica Balear said Noah had been complaining of stomach pains and had been vomiting before he collapsed.

He was rushed to Son Espases with a police escort in a ‘critical’ condition, with local police in the Majorcan capital Palma also being drafted in to help clear roads.

However, he died shortly after being admitted.

A routine investigation into the tragedy has been launched by a Palma court, standard procedure when a young child dies.

Hotel staff have declined to comment and local officials have made no comment about the probe and possible cause of death, other than to say there is no suggestion the youngster’s death is being treated as suspicious.

Friends of Noah’s parents and loved ones have responded with their own touching tributes to the child, who would have been six at the start of November, and offers of support for his family.

One said: ‘I want to say how devastated and shocked I am for you all.

‘As a parent with similar age children to Noah I feel your shock and your pain and just can’t get my head around this.

‘This is every parent’s worst nightmare but at the same time we never think it’ll happen to us. I’m just so sorry you are going through it.’

Another added: ‘I can’t believe I’m never going to see Noah again.

‘He was an amazing, cute, cheeky wee young man.

‘You have been taken too soon. Sending all my love and thinking about you all.

‘God rest you beautiful boy, you will always be in my heart forever.’
