It’s the final frontier of superyacht design.
Behold the ‘Zion’, a £480million ($600million) vessel that the designers say takes inspiration from a black hole, ‘the most mysterious yet beautiful phenomenon of the universe’.
The designers achieve the ‘black hole’ aesthetic by way of a massive glass viewing dome in the middle of the hull that offers ‘180-degree views’ of the sea.

As well as the dome there is a glass-bottomed infinity pool on the main deck, connected to the dining space on the main deck via a ‘hanging bridge’. From here, you can wander into the owner’s suite, which has ‘electrically operated’ balconies on its sides.

Make your way to the upper deck and you’ll find the superyacht’s helipad, designed for passengers who want to go straight from the air to the sea.
It sits next to the flybridge (a steering station), which promises to offer the ‘highest visibility and manoeuvrability in all weather conditions’.
Hop into the boat’s ‘glass column elevator’ to glide down to the lower deck, where there’s a ‘beach club’ with a gym and an ‘open garden space’ at the aft.
According to the designers, the beach club converts into an expandable sunbathing space through foldout bulwark terraces.

Overall, the yacht can accommodate 20 guests in the master suite and 10 ‘luxury’ rooms, as well as over 20 crew members
Elsewhere on the lower deck, there’s a large garage for seafarers to store and deploy their tenders, jet skis and other water toys.
Overall, the superyacht can accommodate 20 guests – in the master suite and 10 ‘luxury’ rooms – and over 20 crew members, the designers explain.
According to Bhusan Power Design, the vessel can travel at a speed of 18 knots (20.7mph) and is propelled by a hybrid-electric propulsion system, which pairs fuel-burning engines with electric motors or batteries.
The designers say that the ‘Zion’ would take four or five years to build, but it’s just a concept at present.
