Piers Morgan brands GMB co-host Susanna Reid ‘hot’

They’re famed for their playful squabbles on ITV’s Good Morning Britain.

But Piers Morgan was uncharacteristically complimentary of Susanna Reid as he branded her ‘quite hot’ after she revealed she lost a whopping stone during her alcohol-free month on Monday’s edition of the breakfast show.

The former America’s Got Talent judge, 53, and his co-host, 47, demonstrated the use of a new handheld camera as they touched on the topic of ‘double chins’.

Poking fun at Piers’ appearance, a viewer sent over a message, stating: ‘She [Susanna] looks like she’s lost 4 pounds! Maybe Piers should take note, that double chin won’t magically shift!’

The former BBC host chimed in to correct the fan, as she said: ‘Well, I’ve lost 14!’

Clearly impressed by Susanna’s transformation, the Celebrity Apprentice star responded: ‘A stone? Blimey!’

The TV Bingo host stayed on the subject of double chins, which caused Piers to reply: ‘Are you fat-shaming me?’ 

‘No, I’m fat-shaming myself’, Susanna quipped. Piers went on to praise the fellow presenter’s appearance as he said: ‘You’re looking quite hot, I think.’

The brunette beauty showcased her signature dry humour as she responded: ‘Thanks… Well it is quite hot in here.’

 Piers and Susanna’s hilarious discussion comes after Susanna revealed she’s gone ‘sober for the month of September’ last week.

The TV host looked fresh-faced as she hosted the ITV1 breakfast show first thing on Thursday after a late night out at the GQ Men Of The Year Awards the previous evening.

Revealing the secret to her bright-eyed appearance after the star-studded bash, the journalist explained: ‘I am sober for September. Is that a thing?’

Susanna announced her new booze-free plan to co-hosts Ben Shephard and Kate Garraway after Kate asked: ‘Feeling alright this morning?’

Expanding on her plan, Susanna said: ‘I’ve decided no alcohol for the entire month,’ before jokingly adding: ‘I decided that last night.’

Despite the pair’s close friendship, Susanna revealed in June that she wasn’t always so sure about her controversial co-star Piers, who was drafted in to the show in 2015.

She admitted to Radio Times that she she wasn’t exactly ‘filled with hope’ when she heard that Piers’s would be joining the team a year later.

She confessed that rather than thinking ‘Aww, what a lovely safe choice. Oh, my life’s going to be easy from now on. Brilliant.’ I was like… Argh!’ 

Despite forging an authentic friendship following their time on air together, Susanna joked that sharing the sofa with Piers felt like ‘sitting next to a hedgehog.’
