Piers Morgan KISSES Peter Andre after David Beckham smooch debate

Piers Morgan stunned Good Morning Britain viewers on Wednesday, as he shared a cheeky smooch with Peter Andre following a debate over whether children should kiss their parents on the lips.

The 53-year-old breakfast presenter had engaged in a fiery debate with the 45-year-old father-of-four over the gesture, with the latter insisting that it was just a ‘show of affection.’

It came after David Beckham sparked a mass debate over the subject by posting an Instagram snap of his seven-year-old daughter kissing him on the lips, leading to a flurry of comments from trolls claiming such a gesture was ‘wrong.’

The duo both put across their views whether they felt it was appropriate for a parent to kiss their child on the lips, with Piers insisting it ‘weirded him out’ to see such a show of affection.

But Peter insisted: ‘I agree with some of the points your opening yourself. You are taking the innocence out of everything, we are too pc.

‘I don’t kiss them on the lips now but when they were younger yes. I can see it on both sides.’

Asking the Mysterious Girl singer whether he kissed Madonna on the lips when he acted as tour support 25 years earlier, Piers decided to prove a point by planting a cheeky smooch on the hunky performer.

Pulling away Piers said: ‘That felt worryingly good!’ while Peter added that the presenter had ‘soft lips.’

It came after Piers brought up the subject during a chat with presenter Kirstie Allsopp, with the mother-of-two insisting she’s no stranger to affectionately kissing her own sons.

She said: ‘I’m a terrible one for grabbing my children and kissing them everywhere. I think to be honest it’s what you put on social media.’

Piers replied: ‘David Beckham wants the world to know he kisses his daughter on the lips- it weirds me out, sorry.

‘Presumably there is only man you kiss on the lips- your father. See it is sexual.’

His co-anchor Susanna Reid added: ‘No it would be her partner Piers.’

Piers also said: ‘Well yes because you presumably have sex with your partner – yes?’ leading Kirstie to quip: ‘Piers I am not talking about sex on national TV. Can we get back to origami and not talk about sex in the morning?’

This all came after David shared a sweet snap of himself kissing his seven-year-old daughter Harper while ice-skating in London on Tuesday, sparking a flurry of comments from trolls claiming it was ‘wrong’ for a father to kiss his daughter on the lips.

The 43-year-old star’s loyal fans soon rushed to his defence on Instagram, with the likes of WAG Rebekah Vardy insisting people were ‘sick’ for ruining a completely natural image.

One follower posted: ‘I don’t care what anyone says if a dad kisses a child on the lips it’s completely wrong smd’.

Another wrote: ‘she’s your daughter. .why are you kissing on her lips..?..that’s ur wife kiss…’, while a third shared, ‘I feel like a kiss on the cheek is better than that n the lips. The lips is just weird’.

However, the vast majority of Beckham’s fans were keen to set the trolls right, sticking up for the devoted father-of-four, who also raises children Brooklyn, 19, Romeo, 15, and Cruz, 13, with his wife Victoria.

‘It’s a beautiful photo of a loving father. Why do people have to ruin something so innocent,’ one fan commented.

Another posted: ‘There is nothing wrong, if you think there is then go get some help because you have mental health issues, seriously ❤’.

‘I hope you have a big delete button for all the haters on here. Honestly folks go get a life,’ a third enraged fan shared.

A fourth declared: This is sooo beautiful and sweet. I am almost 30 and usually kiss my parents and my closest friends on the lips… To all the haters.. If you don’t like it, just don’t comment…the “anonimity” of the internet doesn’t give you a permission to be rude to a celebrity that decides to share part of his/her personal life with you’.

A number of celebrities have now waded into the online debate, including Rebakah Vardy.

The WAG took to Twitter to insist it was perfectly normal, saying she kisses her children on the lips ‘all the time’.

This isn’t the first time David has come under fire for sharing a photo of himself kissing daughter on the lips.

Last year, David was forced to defend his decision, insisting that he and his wife Victoria are ‘always very affectionate’ towards their brood of four.

The sports star had hit back at his critics while taking part in a Facebook Live on his own official page during a trip to Bangkok, and insisted he kisses all of his children on the lips – aside from his eldest son Brooklyn.

He had been pictured kissing his little girl on the lips, as they cuddled up for a selfie during a family Safari trip they had taken in Tanzania.

While many had branded the picture ‘beautiful’ and a depiction of the ‘close bond’ he has with Harper, David was also hit with a barrage of negative comments as others claimed the post had been ‘disgusting’.

Baffled by the strong reaction it received, David addressed his photo with Harper and said: ‘I kiss all my kids on the lips.’

‘Brooklyn maybe not. Brooklyn is 18, so he might find that a little strange, but I’m very affectionate with the kids.’

Hitting back: David revealed he no longer kisses his eldest son Brooklyn on the lips, but he insisted he is 'always very affectionate' towards his children

‘It’s how I was brought up – and Victoria – and it’s how we are with our children.’

The former England captain continued: ‘We want to show our kids love and we protect them, look after them and support them.’

Gushing about his role as a father, David added: ‘Having children is the most special thing in the world.’

Like David, Victoria had too shared a photo of herself kissing Harper while the duo were taking a dip in the pool together during a holiday taken last year.

Her photo had sparked a wide debate, as again, the fashion designer’s social media followers had struggled to agree on the nature of the post.

She had been celebrating her mini-me’s fifth birthday at the time and wrote alongside her picture of the pair: ‘We all love you so much, kisses from mummy.’

Her fans struggled to see eye-to-eye on the snap, with some labelling it ‘strange’, ‘pervy’ and ‘old-fashioned’.

One user commented: ‘It is strange to kiss your parents on the lips, we need to stop saying to other people it isn’t.’

Another added: ‘Ew sorry I’m old fashioned it looks like they making out.’

Many more, however, had jumped to Victoria’s defence and insisted they ‘felt sorry’ for the star, due to the negative comments she had received.
