Pine O Cleen washing machine cleaner that will remove dirt you never knew existed

A group of homeowners have discovered a $4 supermarket product that will remove the dirt you never knew existed in your washing machine.

Taking to Australian Facebook group Mums Who Clean, women are using Pine O Cleen’s ‘washing machine cleaner’ to eliminate ‘musky’ smells and get rid of build-up dirt, grime and bacteria lurking inside their top and front loaders.

All you have to do is pour the cleaning solution into the drum of your machine and run one complete washing cycle at 40 degrees without any laundry or detergent.

The method is very simple with instructions explaining you need to do the cleaning process on an empty machine every two months.

Many people raved about the product for leaving a ‘lasting freshness’ and keeping their washing machine clean.

During the cycle, she said she had noticed the water was running clear – but she was completely shocked to see the dirty result in the bucket.

‘I have a front loader and was skeptical so I caught the water to take a look. Oh my God the bottom half of the bucket was like chunky dirty custard,’ she said. 

Another woman said she was hugely impressed after she cleaned her washing machine with the same product.

‘Saw a post about this earlier in the week and thought I’d give it a go… WOW!! Water was filthy (final deep rinse and water was clean and clear). Great product – about $5 – cleans, deodorises and smells so lovely,’ she said.

Another homeowner said: ‘This product removes the musty smell and cleaned my front loader amazing definitely worth the money.’  

Pine O Cleen’s Anti Bacterial Washing Machine Cleaner is available at leading supermarket stores for $6, but it’s currently on sale at Coles for $4.

‘To keep your washing machine fresh and clean, I totally recommend [Dr Beckmann]. This even helps remove fabric softener build up,’ one woman said.

‘Front loaders need more regular cleaning due to mould build up on rubber of door opening.’ 

Another shopper said she noticed the difference with her clothes shortly after cleaning her washing machine with the Dettol bottle. 

‘It’s amazing. My clothes actually smell a lot better now after cleaning the machine with this stuff,’ she said.

‘I can smell the difference with the clothes… smelling a lot more fresher with the washing powder and fabric softener.’
