‘I don’t do well with positive reinforcement’: Pink admits she’s ’embarrassed’ to discover she is the most played female artist in Britain in the 21st century

Pink has admitted she is ’embarrassed’ of being the most played female artist in Britain.

The singer, 43, was the most-played female artist in the UK since the 21st century began according to music licensing company PPL.

Pink appeared on Wednesday’s Lorraine where she was told about the incredible statistic by host Lorraine Kelly.

She responded: ‘‘Oh my god really, am I? That’s wild.’

She then added: ‘That’s a very strange sentence, I’m embarrassed! I don’t do well with positive reinforcement!”’

Music usage and air play data from radio and television stations across the country determined Pink’s top spot on the list.

Behind the Just Give Me a Reason singer were songstresses like Madonna, Katy Perry, Rihanna, Beyonce and many more.

Pink, whose real name is Alecia Moore, has released eight solo albums and one collaborative album under the band name You+Me alongside musician Dallas Green.

Other artists have a much larger library than Pink, yet she still beat them out. Madonna has been making music for decades but still finished behind the Sober singer.

Some of the other notable names on the list were Lady Gaga, fifth, Whitney Houston, 10th, Taylor Swift, 11th, and Ariana Grande, 20th.

Elsewhere in the chat, Pink opened up on her daughter Willow, 11, saying: ‘She does have her little jobs on tour so she earns that money, she earns her way.’

‘She’s very unbothered by it all. I let her come out at BottleRock in front of 40,000 people to sing her ‘Cover Me In Sunshine’ and she was so unfazed.

‘And I leaned down and was like, “Baby are you okay?” and she goes, “Can I go eat my candy?”

Impressive: The singer, 43, was the most-played female artist in the UK since the 21st century began according to music licensing company PPL

‘Willow is such a rule follower which is so weird to me. She gets straight A’s and she’s brilliant. I’m like, “Who are you? You didn’t come out of me!”

Talking about her son, Jamerson, six, she said: ”And Jamerson is a little comedian and we’re a little bit worried about that one.

‘We want her [Willow] to become a lawyer to change the world and bail him [Jamerson] out of jail!’

She also discussed her impressive tour stunts, explaining: ‘‘There are times when I am up there and when I do those things and even I am like “why am I doing this?”‘
