The wife of Pink Floyd guitarist Dave Gilmour has launched an attack against his former bandmate Roger Waters labelling him a ‘Putin apologist’ and ‘anti-Semitic.’
Waters, who has branded the claims from Polly Samson ‘wildly inaccurate’ and ‘incendiary’, recently gave an interview to German magazine Berliner Zeitung where he denounced claims he was an anti-Semite.
Sharing the article on Twitter, the musician wrote: ‘The Truth Will Set Us Free.
‘Against the backdrop of the outrageous and despicable smear campaign by the Israeli lobby to denounce me as an anti-Semite which I am not, never have been and never will be.’
Waters, who is currently engaged in a boycott of Israel, expressed several controversial opinions in the piece including that ‘Putin may not be a bigger gangster than Joe Biden.’

Waters recently shared a link to an interview he had done covering topics like Putin and Israel
He wrote: ‘The most important reason for supplying arms to Ukraine is surely profit for the arms industry. And I wonder: is Putin a bigger gangster than Joe Biden and all those in charge of American politics since World War II? I am not so sure. Putin didn’t invade Vietnam or Iraq? Did he?’
He also claimed that Israel was engaged in ‘genocide’ and compared events to the way Great Britain behaved ‘during our colonial period.’
He said: ‘We believed ourselves to be inherently superior to the indigenous people, just as the Israelis do in Palestine. Well, we weren’t and neither are the Israeli Jews.’
Shortly after Waters posted the link to the article, Samson posted a tweet of her own – seemingly in response to the article.
In her tweet, Samson described Waters as a ‘Putin apologist’ who was ‘anti-Semitic to [his] rotten core.’
The fiery comment also contained several other unsubstantiated claims about Waters.

Shortly afterwards, Waters’ team released a response from his own Twitter account, saying: ‘Roger Waters is aware of the incendiary and wildly inaccurate comments made about him on Twitter by Polly Samson which he refutes entirely.
‘He is currently taking advice on his position.’
Roger Waters founded Pink Floyd back in 1965 alongside Syd Barrett (guitar, lead vocals), Nick (drums) and Richard (keyboards, vocals).
David joined the band two years later in 1967, and Syd left the following year due to mental health problems.
There were several reports of in-fighting with the band, with Richard leaving the group in 1979, followed by Roger in 1985.
Roger has amassed a staggering net worth of £247 million thanks to a hugely successful solo career, as well as his companies Roger Waters Music UK and Roger Waters Music Overseas.
