Pittsburgh police confirm multiple deaths due to ‘medical situation’

At least three people wearing orange paper wristbands have died and four others have been hospitalized due to a ‘medical situation’ in a Pennsylvania neighborhood. 

Pittsburgh police have confirmed the deaths and hospitalizations after responding to the incident just before 7.30am Sunday morning. 

Authorities are currently on the scene at the 2600 block of Tunnel Boulevard in the South Side.

Photos from KDKA reporter Chris Hoffman showed police cars parked outside the Southside Works City Club Apartments, but it’s unclear where exactly the incident occurred. 

All of the victims were wearing orange paper bands on their wrists, according to a police statement.  

Police said the victims had all attended a party or event in which guests were given orange wrist bands. 

No other details were immediately available.
