Plans for Jennifer Hawkins’ mega mansion in Sydney’s exclusive Whale Beach causes community uproar: ‘Enough is enough’

Jennifer Hawkins and her husband Jake Wall’s are well underway with their plans to build a $30million Westfield-style mega mansion on Sydney’s Northern Beaches.

And some locals of the wealthy Whale Beach community are not happy with the power couple’s plans and have complained to the local council, reports New Idea.

‘A proposed spa would exacerbate an already offensive scarring of the ocean front by the outdoor lounge,’ a neighbour told the Northern Beaches Council.

‘This is a step too far and enough is enough,’ the frustrated local added.

Jennifer and Jake have since withdrawn their plans for the spa – but are still going ahead with developing a gym, basketball court, pool and bowling alley.

Local homeowners also claim the extravagant development of the mansion has made it harder to both lease and sell their adjacent properties.

‘It’s taken a toll on tenants who have now vacated. People don’t want to buy and their main objections are the construction zone,’ one upset landlord said. 

Hawkins and Wall will be moving into the mansion upon completion, which will be approximately four times the size of its neighbouring properties.

Earlier this month, it was reported locals are reportedly furious with the ongoing development, which commenced more than nine months ago, as the ‘constant stream of trucks’ continue to block the narrow street and park for ‘hours on end’.

According to the Sydney Morning Herald, residents in the surrounding homes are reeling and one neighbour has had his driveway blocked ‘on several occasions’ for hours. 

On top of that, the noise coming from the former Miss Universe Australia and her husband Jake Wall’s renovation has been a constant disruption to what once was the quietest corner of the peaceful suburb.

Hawkins, 39, and her husband Wall, 40, appear to have received the construction go-ahead to begin building in the wealthy suburb located 40 kilometres north of the Sydney central business district.

Aerial footage obtained by Daily Mail Australia last month shows a construction site set up on the enormous plot of land.

Hawkins and Wall dated for eight years before they tied the knot in a Bali ceremony in June 2013 and they share two children, daughter Frankie and son Hendrix.
