With just his second studio album, rapper Playboi Carti has already found his way atop the Billboard album charts.
The 24-year-old rapper (real name Jordan Terrell Carter) debuted his second album Whole Lotta Red on Christmas Day, with the album topping the Billboard 200 album charts for the week ending December 21, according to Billboard.
Carti’s second album earned 100,000 equivalent album units in the United States, according to Nielsen Music/MRC Data.

Of the 100,000 equivalent album units, 90,000 streaming equivalent units, which equal 126.43 million on-demand streams of the album’s songs and 10,000 album sales.
The album’s track equivalent albums represent a ‘negligible number,’ according to the Billboard report.

The debut is his first atop the Billboard album charts, with his first studio album, 2018’s Die Lit, both debuted at and peaked at #3 on the album charts.
To date, the album has sold 1.1 million equivalent album units, plus 1.67 billion on-demand streams for its tracks.
Carti’s 2017 self-titled mixtape reached as high as #12 on the Billboard charts, and he also notched his first Billboard Hot 100 top 10 single as well.

The album sold 71,000 album equivalent units, down 58% from the previous week on the charts.

Landing in third place was the resurgent Lil Durk, whose album The Voices jumped from 46th place on last week’s charts to 3rd place this week.
The album debuted on December 24, the last day of the previous tracking period, where he earned 23,000 equivalent album units in just one day.
With a full week of sales, it surged 191% with 66,000 equivalent album units over the post-Christmas holiday week.
Resusrgent: Landing in third place was the resurgent Lil Durk, whose album The Voices jumped from 46th place on last week’s charts to 3rd place this week
Pop Smoke’s Shoot For the Stars Aim For the Moon returned to the top 10 this past week, jumping from 11th place to 4th place with 46,000 album equivalent units, down just 3% from last week.
It had slipped to 11th place last week, the first time it was out of the top 10 since it debuted atop the album charts on July 18.
Ariana Grande’s Positions also returned to the Top 10 in 5th place, rebounding after a 14th place finish last week.
The Top 10 is rounded out by Swift’s Folklore in sixth place (35,000 units, down 33%), Megan Thee Stallion’s in seventh (34,000 units, down 9%), Luke Combs’ What You Get in eighth place (34,000 units, down 5%), Bad Bunny’s El Ultimo Tour del Mundo in ninth place (34,000 units, down 10%) and Eminem’s Music to be Murdered by in 10th place (33,000 units, down 65%).
