The car was stopped by officers on July 3 just after 9pm at Helensavle on the Gold Coast where they conducted a roadside drug test.

The test returned a negative result but, based on the intelligence, the officers searched the vehicle.

The search found in the driver’s side door 0.71g of ice and 0.811g of cocaine.

1.35g of the drug fantasy was also found in multiple vials inside the car.

Her defence lawyer, Campbell MacCallum, attributed Hughes becoming involved in drugs due to the influence of an ex-boyfriend.

After a previous appearance in court for drugs last year, Hughes travelled overseas to Canada and London where she worked as a model.

When she returned to the Gold Coast, her lawyer said she began a relationship with a man who introduced her to cocaine and fantasy.

‘Thankfully that relationship has ended. It would seem the target of this particular operation was (her former partner) as the primary target,’ he said.

Hughes pleaded guilty to five charges including possession of dangerous drugs.

Magistrate Kay Philipson fined Hughes $1000 – taking into account she was three weeks into a drug rehabilitation program.

Hughes had no conviction recorded.
