This is the dramatic moment armed officers arrest a man in Plymouth after a victim was shot in the arm. 

Footage obtained exclusively by MailOnline shows the man marching out of the house with his arms raised above his head while several armed officers point guns at him. 

The man is ordered to walk onto the pavement before kneeling down and putting his hands behind his head.

After he has submitted, the officers quickly handcuff him and take him away. 

Police arrested a 27-year-old woman in the early hours of the morning on suspicion of attempted murder in connection with the incident,  after the victim was found in a car suffering a gunshot wound.  

Police surrounded a property on Princess Street in Plymouth ahead of this afternoon’s dramatic surrender. 

In pictures taken at the scene, near the Theatre Royal car park, a blood-stained piece of clothing was seen on a wall.

Detective Inspector Dave Eames from Devon and Cornwall Police, said: ‘A 27-year-old local woman has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and remains in police custody.

‘It is believed that the incident involved people who know one another and appears to be isolated. 

‘Further individuals are sought in connection to this matter and our work continues to locate and apprehend those that were involved in such a rare event for the city of Plymouth’

‘There will be a police presence in the area for some time, as specialist search trained officers and crime scene investigators work on the scene, and we would like to hear from anybody who was in the area during the incident.’

Devon and Cornwall Police said earlier today: ‘There was an armed robbery last night that has left one man hospitalised (not life-threatening).

‘Police have locked down the area as part of their enquiries into this matter.’

She said: ‘There’s hardly any people or cars around. A section of Princess Street and the whole of Lockyer Street has been cordoned off by police.

‘There are scene guards at several locations around the cordon and nobody is allowed through.

‘There is a section cordoned off within the Theatre Royal car park too, but other than that, the scene is very quiet.’
