Podcaster takes on rugby league star Justin Hodges in a boxing match to win back his influencer ex Sammy Robinson: ‘She is the love of my life’
Australian podcaster Jordan Simi is hoping to win back his Instagram model ex-girlfriend Sammy Robinson by facing NRL legend Justin Hodges in the boxing ring.
Simi, 27, who has never fought professionally, will square up against 40-year-old Hodges in a heavyweight fight on Wednesday night in an attempt to capture Robinson’s attention following their split in May.
‘I’ve actually invited her to the fight, she is the love of my life,’ Simi told News Corp Australia on Monday.

Simi, who dated Gigi Hadid lookalike Robinson for seven months before calling it quits, explained: ‘I was saying to [promoters] George and Matt Rose, ‘I’m fighting for love here. That’s why I’m doing this”.
‘I thought, I need a fight so I can win and then look down the lens and say ‘Hey, I love you, take me back” the
Simi went on to describe himself as a ‘romantic’, revealing his mates have even been ‘rallying around’ to convince Robinson to watch his match ringside.

‘I’m just gonna take my time and if he thinks I’m old and slow, it’s gonna look pretty bad for him when a 40-year-old knocks him out,’ Hodges said.
The athlete took a stab at Simi’s lack of experience, declaring ‘I don’t give a s*** what he does’ when asked whether he’s struggled to prepare for his showdown without seeing any footage of Simi fighting.

Robinson and Simi dated from October to May this year before calling it quits
‘He’ll have to knock me out to win. There’s no doubt about that,’ he declared.
Simi, who hosts the Grouse And A Few Reds’ podcast, meanwhile claimed that ‘sloppy’ Hodges will struggle to keep up with him due to his older age.
‘I’m excited to jump in there. I’ve been watching his past fights … he’s a bit slow to be fair, just comes with age respectfully,’ he jibed.
Hodges has won four of his five bouts during his pro boxing career, only losing to fellow NRL player Darcy Lussick.
Simi will fight on Hodges on the undercard of the Nikita Tszyu vs Ben Horn fight on Wednesday night at Sydney’s Hordern Pavilion.
