Poker player doubles his £42,000 winnings betting on black

This is the moment a professional gambler brought the house down by betting his entire £43,000 poker tournament prize on one spin of the roulette wheel – and won.

Jake Cody scooped a pay-out of £42,670 at the Dusk Till Dawn casino in Nottingham after finishing top of the £2,200 entry high roller event.

But the daredevil poker player decided that this was small fish and headed to the roulette table for a 50-50 chance of doubling his money by betting on black.

Phone footage shows the moment Cody sparked pandemonium by successfully betting on black and bagging £86,000 for one night’s work.

The clip shows the crowd chanting in support of Cody and Dusk Till Dawn owner Rob Yong spinning the ball himself.

The ball fell on Black 22 and absolute bedlam ensued for the poker player from Rochdale, who burst on to the European tournament scene in 2010 with major wins.
