A photographer captured the adorable moment two polar bear cubs climb over their mother to give each other a kiss.
The brothers had only recently emerged for the first time from their den in the Wapusk National Park in Manitoba, Canada.
Yan Shao, 46, braved temperatures of well below -25C and was rewarded with the perfectly-timed snap of the youngsters playing above their nonplussed mother.
The photograph was featured on the National Geographic’s Your Shot section, and it’s producer Matt Adams said: ‘This is a very peaceful and fun scene. The mother just seems so at peace as her two cubs use her body as a balancing beam trying to get a better angle.’
