  • A person had been caught trying to sell 12 cases of Emu Export without a licence
  • Police seized the contraband and lined up the unopened cans on the road
  • The vehicle rolled over the cans as a warning to anyone caught breaking the law

Outback police have been filmed destroying over a dozen cases of beer in style after confiscating the booze from a local.

The police officers, from remote Fitzroy Crossing in Western Australia, took the Emu Export beer from a man who had been trying to sell them without a permit.

The indigenous community is subject to a total ban on takeaway alcohol, which means locals can only drink booze sold at a hotel.

Anyone caught breaking the rule risks severe punishments and heavy fines.

‘Sly grogging in Fitzroy Crossing will not be tolerated and we will catch you,’ the post read.

According to the Western Australia Police website, ‘sly grogging’ refers to a person who tries to sell alcohol without a licence.

Not only was the person fined $2,000 for the offence in this case, but their merchandise was destroyed in hilarious fashion.

Footage shows 12 cases worth of unopened Emu Export beer cans arranged in a curvy line on the road.

A police 4WD slowly rolls over the arrangement of cans that bursts open and sends beer shooting out of its sides under the heavy set of wheels.

The car finally runs into the stacked, empty cartons at the end and knocks over the wall of cardboard like a bowling ball hitting pins in an alley.

‘Report sly grogging to us, we would love to reduce the damaging impact it has on community,’ the post reads.

Amused social media users have taken to the post to share in the hilarity of the moment.

‘Thoughts and prayers to the families those chooks could of gone too,’ one person commented.

Another person thought the police car missed more cans than it crushed.

‘Wow………..they actually went to the trouble of laying all those cans out in a squiggly line, only to miss half of them,’ he said.
