Police arrest three girls aged 12, 14 and 16 after an elderly man was found dead at his Cambridgeshire home

Three teenage girls were arrested after a man in his 80s died on Saturday.

Police were called to a residential street in Wisbech, Cambridgeshire on Saturday afternoon after a man collapsed from a cardiac arrest.

Officers have released limited information about the incident but said three schoolgirls – aged 12, 14 and 16 – were later arrested.

The 12-year-old has since been released without further action. The older two girls will report back to police later this month. 

The man’s death is currently treating his death as unexplained.

A police spokesman said: ‘We were called at about 5pm on Saturday (28 September) by the ambulance service with reports of a man in a cardiac arrest in Edinburgh Drive, Wisbech.

‘The man, in his 80s, sadly passed away at the scene. At this stage the death is being treated as unexplained.

‘Three girls aged 12, 14 and 16 and a 20-year-old man were arrested in connection with the incident. Two girls aged 14 and 16 have been bailed until 25 October. The other 12-year-old girl and the man have been released with no further action.’
