Police are today hunting for celebrity chef Heston Blumenthal’s sister after she failed to turn up to court to face charges of attacking their mother

Alexis Blumenthal, 48, was due to appear at Oxford Magistrates’ Court accused of assaulting her 76-year-old mother Celia.

She was charged with two counts of assault by beating on October 7 and September 9, but failed to show up for the court hearing yesterday.

District Judge Tim Pattinson issued a warrant for her arrest, which will be executed by Thames Valley Police.

She lives in the Oxfordshire village of Thame where the assault on October 7 was alleged to have taken place.

The other on September 9 was said to have occurred in nearby Watlington.

Her brother Heston, who has made a series of hit TV shows, once described how his mother raised both children.

His flagship Michelin star restaurant, The Fat Duck, is just across the Oxfordshire border in Bray, Berkshire.

Heston once told The Independent: ‘My parents were… eccentric. My mum’s not shy in speaking her mind. My old man prefers an easy life – like me.

‘Dad had a leasing company but retired over 15 years ago. Mum helped with the business and brought up me and my sister, Alexis.’
