A dozen off-duty officers arrived to Larriah’s home with a birthday cake, balloons, and plenty of presents.
‘We asked mom where we could drop off the card and we decided to put together a party and brought cake and presents and other officers to help her celebrate,’ Sergeant Christian Behr said.
‘She was definitely surprised. I told her there was a few people coming over but she didn’t know who and when the cars started pulling up you could see the excitement in her eyes, she started jumping up and down,’ her mom Angelique Binns said.
‘She’s been pretty much surprised because I don’t think she really knew that we were all coming in such numbers. She might have had an idea that someone from the police department was going to show up with maybe a card but then we had some good response from off-duty officers and their families as well as all of the other officers that are working today,’ Sergeant Behr added on the successful surprise.
Larriah received a card signed by the entire police department and several gift cards to her favorite stores.
