Police investigating after a woman’s body was found at the base of a popular ocean lookout in NSW

  • Police were called to Pat Morotn Lookout near Lennox Head just before 5pm 
  • Police were unable to retrieve the body of the women before losing daylight 
  • Scene under police guard until the body can be retrieved safely  

A woman’s body has been found on rocks below a popular whale-watching vantage point on NSW’s far north coast.

Police were alerted to the discovery at Pat Morton Lookout near Lennox Head just before 5pm on Friday.

Officers who climbed to the base of the lookout weren’t able to retrieve the body due to fading light and a rising tide. 

The scene will remain under police guard until Saturday morning.

It’s unclear how the woman, yet to be identified, died.
