Police have today launched a murder investigation after a father in his early 20s was found stabbed to death in his home following an apparent argument over a debt.

The young father, who has been named locally as Dave Molloy, lived at the three-storey terraced home in Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire.

He was attacked in the early hours of this morning and police and ambulance crews were called to the home at 2.21am.

Neighbours said he lived at the house with his girlfriend and a young baby and worked as a labourer.

They added said that several other people also lived at the property.

At the nearby shops, one person said: ‘I heard it was to do with an argument over a debt and that a group of people arrived at the house early this morning, where they heard raised voices arguing.’

Police and forensics are at the property and the area remains cordoned off.
