This is the moment a police officer screams ‘get the f*** off me’ and points a taser at a gang of youths after one attacked him as he pinned down a suspect on the floor.

Shocking video footage shows two officers restraining a man as they try to arrest him at a McDonald’s in Hackney, east London last night.

Surrounded by people screaming, shouting and filming the incident on their phones, the clip shows one of the officers raising a weapon to subdue the suspect.

But as they do, one person is heard saying ‘They’re going to kill him’ before one onlooker launches himself at the officer, kicking him twice.

The scene then descends into further chaos as the two policemen continue to struggle with the suspect on the floor and the onlookers crowd in on them.

One of the officers is kicked by the same man again and shouts ‘get the f*** off me’ repeatedly before pointing a taser at another man who approaches him.

The mobile phone footage was posted on Twitter with the caption ‘meanwhile.. in hackney #NottingHillCarnival’ in the early hours of this morning.

Hackney Police has not yet arrested anyone in connection with the police officer assault and this morning appealed to find the ‘tough man’ in the video.

The force wrote on Twitter: ‘If you witnessed this incident last night please DM.

‘If the ‘tough man’ who feels it’s acceptable to kick my colleague in the back, not once but twice when trying to arrest someone, feels any sort of remorse, get in touch too before we track you down. #ProtectTheProtectors’

Dozens of users commented on the video, with some defending the actions of police and others questioning their use of the taser.

Several branded the youths’ behaviour ‘disgusting’ and said it ‘made them feel sick’.

One user posted saying: ‘Man pulls out his taser,’ with a crying face emoji.

Responding to the comment, the force added: ‘Man got assaulted, not once but twice whilst trying to arrest someone. Think you miss the point here.’

MailOnline has contacted Hackney Police for further comment.
