In the 31-second clip, the silver 2017 Buick Encore – being driven by the child – is seen swerving from lane to lane with its blinkers on at 1:40pm on May 27.

The hazard lights flashed while the 10-year-old veered the vehicle across southbound Interstate 75 from his home in Buena Vista Township as he ignored the cops chasing him.

Before long, the SUV moved toward the side of the road, before hitting the guardrail and coming to a stop.

The child, who has not been identified, could be seen opening the door before the end of the video. He then ran into the woods before being caught.

Michigan State Police troopers were informed the stolen SUV was speeding down I-75, and they started following it. Buena Vista Township is about a 90 minute drive from Detroit.

As they were responding, they received multiple 911 calls about a child driving recklessly on the same road.

MSP Lt. Kimberly Vetter said the child driver disregarded the sirens of the police cars and kept going.

OnStar, which was set up in the SUV, remotely disabled and the car then cruised to a stop, which is where the video ended.

The child, who was staying with relatives, told police he took his mother’s car so he could go see her in Detroit.

Police said that the car was stolen from a residence on Hess Avenue in Buena Vista Township.
