A San Francisco school was placed on lockdown after reported gunfire.  

A student reportedly fired a gun on accident in the restroom of Balboa High School, a mother at the scene told the San Francisco Examiner.  

Authorities confirmed that the school had been placed on lockdown, as was the nearby James Denman Middle School and Leadership High School.

Officers were carrying weapons and ambulances were likewise at the scene. 

The San Francisco Unified School District has since confirmed that all students are safe.  

No details have yet been released by the police or school. 

The San Francisco Police Department is investigating the incident.
