Police are not investigating three semi-naked girls who took pictures with a sleeping Wayne Rooney – because no complaint has been made to them, despite the England ace’s people insisting it had been reported.
Tayler Ryan and her friends Elise Melvin and Brooke Morgan, all 21, reportedly partied into the early hours of Sunday with the player at £50-a-night Staycity apartments in Manchester.
Ex-Manchester United ace Rooney, who is married to Coleen and has four sons with his childhood sweetheart, and his friends had invited them to his VIP booth at the Chinawhite club.
Photos on social media show the retired England striker asleep in a chair as the girls stripped to their underwear at their £60-per-night hotel room in Manchester, with one flashing her bottom next to Rooney then posting it with the caption: ‘Mooney Rooney’.
Wayne was said to be angry that they had taken photos of him asleep and complained to Greater Manchester Police amid fears he had been ‘set up’.
But MailOnline can reveal despite Rooney’s representatives claiming they had made a complaint, Greater Manchester Police could find no sign of any such report.
A source told MailOnline: ‘It’s not a police matter, they have struggled to find any such report to the force
‘At this time there is no police involvement at all.’
A spokesperson for GMP said this afternoon: ‘We are not aware that this has been reported to police. There is no police involvement at this time.’
The police news came after fans seemed bemused he had taken it in such poor spirit and questioned what offence he thought had been committed.
One said: ‘What crime? Was Wayne Rooney forced at gunpoint to spend the night at a hotel with two women.’
Another joked: ‘Wow…if that’s a crime sign me up Gaffer! I’ll have some of that pre season training!’

MailOnline understands the images were taken on Saturday night, on the first weekend that nightclubs in England were allowed to open in more than 15 months due to lockdown restrictions imposed during the pandemic. There is no suggestion of any wrongdoing on Rooney’s part.
Tayler posted photos of her sitting with Rooney on a couch to her 13,000 Instagram followers. One image shows Rooney wearing a black hoodie and jeans and waving his arm in the air while holding a glass of wine. After Rooney fell asleep, the girls started to play pranks.
One of the images shows one of the girls posing in a G-string and baring her bottom next to Rooney’s head. Another shows one of the girls giving a peace sign next to Rooney while the other lies on the bed in her underwear with the caption ‘Sleepy Wayne’.
Rooney then reportedly left the Staycity complex ‘angry’ after he woke up.
The friend said: ‘They were all having fun dancing around with Wayne and his mates and posting about it on Snapchat but they couldn’t stop laughing when he passed out. They decided to have some fun.’
Rooney’s legal team would not confirm what complaint was made, although it is understood that the former England star fears he has been ‘set up’.
Rooney was out partying hours after Derby lost 2-1 away to Salford in a pre-season friendly, the Sun reports.
MailOnline have approached Greater Manchester Police for further information. Rooney’s representatives and Derby County Football Club declined to comment.
Rooney is currently busy preparing his Derby side for the new Championship season, which kicks off in a fortnight’s time.
But he faces a significant challenge ahead of his first game, against Huddersfield, because the team currently nine registered senior players – two of which are goalkeepers.
Just yesterday he vowed he will not walk away as manager, but warned the club it would be ‘impossible’ for him to field a team for the start of the new Sky Bet Championship season without significant signings.

Rooney also won 16 trophies at Untied, where he moved, aged 18, after completing a £25million move from his boyhood club Everton. He also earned a host of personal accolades, including the 2009-10 PFA Player of the Season award and five Premier League Player of the Month awards.
