Police search for a mother, 33, and her infant daughter who vanished without taking any belongings

A mother and her infant child have vanished without a trace after she dropped off her son at a Texas school last week, authorities said.

Heidi Broussard, 33, and her 2-week-old daughter Margot were last seen Thursday morning when the mother was dropping her son off at Cowan Elementary School in Austin, police said.

Both were at the school about 7:30 a.m., according to a missing persons report. An image released by police shows the mother dressed in a purple shirt while she was still at the school about 20 minutes later.

‘Heidi and Margot are believed to have returned to their residence near West William Cannon and South First Street, but have not been seen or heard from since,’ police say in the missing person’s report.

The mother’s fiancee and father of her kids, Shane Carey, told KVUE that the mom and baby’s belongings, as well as her car, were all left behind.

“I don’t know why anybody would ever harm or touch these two beautiful women together,” Carey told the news outlet.

‘She is an amazing person,’ the father said. ‘She has amazing support, friends behind her. She’s so personable – one of the best people I’ve ever met, so kind, and she does anything for her kids – one of the best moms.’

The emotional dad said he had gone to work about 8 a.m. that morning and that that was ‘the last time I talked to her’.

She and the baby were no where to be found when he says he came home about 2 p.m. That’s when the dad says he also got a call from school saying their son wasn’t picked up after class.

After picking up the boy himself, the dad returned home and still found the mom and daughter missing, and called police.

“If you see an awesome mom with a baby walking around or in a suspicious van or car or anything, please just somebody call,” Carey told KEYE, while stopping at a T-Mobile store on Friday in the hopes, he said, of getting the mom’s cell phone records.

The father tearfully pleaded, in an interview with the news outlet, for the mother to ‘come home’.

‘I love you. Just please come home. We miss you’, he says.

The mother is described as standing at 5-foot-3 inches tall, and weighing 150 pounds, with long dark hair with highlights.

Her baby was born on November 26, 2019, and weighs about 7 pounds, 7 ounces. She is roughly 22 inches long.

Anyone with information is asked to call police by dialing 911 in Austin, or directly at (512) 974-5017.
