Police sergeant, 35, who shared bikini pictures while on sick leave quits force blaming ‘bullying’

A police sergeant who posted photos of herself in bikinis and topless on a string of luxury trips while signed off sick has resigned from the force, blaming ‘bullying, harassment and victimisation’ by colleagues, MailOnline can reveal.

Glamorous Sergeant Leanne Carr, 35, said that after 14 years’ service in Lincolnshire Police she had to ‘close the door to the negativity I’ve endured from my colleagues for my own sanity and to protect my mental health.’

Her comments, in an impassioned Instagram post alongside a photo of her – unusually in uniform – were the first time she has spoken out about the 2018 controversy.

And she makes it clear her fight with the boys in blue is not over, and invites other disaffected officers to contact her, saying ‘my inbox is always open’.

The force poster girl was believed to have suffered a stress-related illness in 2017 after becoming the subject of an internal misconduct investigation.

But over a period of seven months, she uploaded snaps of trips to Thailand, Cyprus, Austria and South Africa.

She had featured in several PR campaigns for Lincolnshire Police, and returned to work at Grantham station in January 2018.

Fellow cops were distinctly unimpressed by her posting racy photos of her sunshine jaunts in exotic locations while off sick, though it was not clear when she had made the trips.

A source said at the time: ‘What’s angered colleagues is while she’s been uploading these globetrotting snaps, she’s supposed to have been off work sick. She certainly doesn’t look very stressed in the images she’s put on her social media.

‘In fact she’s having a whale of a time in luxury resorts all over the world all funded by the public purse, of course.

‘This is a senior officer and some of the photos are not befitting of someone in that role. In practically every photograph she is wearing next to nothing and some of the poses are very suggestive.’

It emerged at the time that she could also face a new probe over a series of modelling shots – including one of her kissing another woman’s bum.

In another post she appeared topless, with two pineapples covering her breasts, alongside the caption: ‘When life gives you pineapples, make pina coladas’.

Leanne has appeared in several online adverts for extreme sports company Alutius, a brand owned by her millionaire boyfriend Luke Westen. Mr Westen’s Instagram account shows a jet-set lifestyle of him posing in front of Porsches and Bentley cars.

But in modelling shots for his firm, his lover Sgt Carr appears on all fours wearing a white bikini and bunny ears while kissing the bum of another model sitting on top of a giant fluffy rabbit.

Since then gym fanatic Leanne has given birth to a baby boy and even launched online fitness classes for new mums on social media platform Twitch.

But her devastating Instagram post earlier this week – some written in the third person – made it clear she’s not about to let bygones be bygones with former colleagues, who she accuses of jealous back-biting.

‘Behind the uniform is a real person, a human being, with real feelings and real emotions. Someone that has had enough,’ she wrote.

‘Enough of taking care of everyone else without even batting an eyelid at the danger, trauma and devastation ahead of her as she performs her duty as a frontline officer.

‘Only for those that are supposed to walk the line with her to not repay her with the same respect that she shows everyone else.

‘Bullying, harassment and victimisation is not okay. Not on any level.

‘After 14 years service as a Police Constable, Police Sergeant and Police Inspector I am immensely proud of myself. I achieved that through hard work, determination, sacrifices and a love for serving the public.

‘Sadly I’ve had to close the door to the negativity I’ve endured from my colleagues for my own sanity and to protect my own mental health.’

She adds perhaps ominously: ‘I haven’t had my say about my ordeal but I will, in good time.

A spokesperson for the force told MailOnline: that Sergeant Carr (pictured above) has 'resigned as a police officer', adding: 'We thank her for her service as a police officer'

‘I hope that others can learn from my experiences as the saying goes, there is no true peace without fairness, truth, justice and solidarity.

‘My inbox is always open, don’t suffer in silence, don’t think it will get better like I did, stand up for what is right, do it now!

‘And remember when others are attacking you it’s through jealousy.

‘Jealousy is a form of hatred built from insecurity. Never hate those that are jealous of you, as hard as it is, try to respect their jealousy because they are the ones who think you are better than them.

‘I will come out of this stronger, and I am determined to ensure that history does not repeat itself as I stand up tall and fight for what is right.

‘NC this is Inspector/Sergeant/Police Constable 94 Leanne Carr signing off for the last time. Goodnight.’

A spokesperson for the force told MailOnline: ‘Lincolnshire Police can confirm that Sergeant Carr has resigned as a police officer.

‘We thank her for her service as a police officer.’
