Police smash car to rescue puppy locked in 65C heat 

  • A tiny puppy was rescued from boiling heat of a car in Sydney’s west Saturday 
  • Concerned passers-by spotted the distressed pooch and called NSW authorities 
  • While outside reached about 40C, inside the car was measured at 65C  

A little seven-week-old puppy was rescued after being trapped in a boiling hot car in Sydney’s west.

Heroic police officers rescued the tanned pup by smashing through the window of the car on one of the city’s hottest days.

The distressed puppy was saved from 65C heat inside the car while the outside temperature reached about 40C, NSW Police wrote on Facebook.

The small puppy was found at Oran Park, 65 kilometres west of Sydney, after concerned passers-by spotted the pooch.

Police were able to give the pup fresh water and air conditioning relief on Saturday.

‘It’s a timely reminder not to leave children or animals inside an unattended vehicle,’ NSW Police wrote. 

In December, a woman’s dog died after being left in a car while in the care of its dog walker.

The four-year-old Keeshond was believed to be trapped in the car for about six hours after the dog walker allegedly forgot about it.
