policeman rescues a lizard stuck inside a Red Bull can

  • Curious lizard was filmed stuck in a red bull can after seeking a quick energy-hit
  • A police officer wrestled with the can to rescue the lizard from his tin prison
  • With an encouraging nudge on the tail, the Kalgoorlie lizard finally escaped

Unfortunately Red Bull did not give this thirsty lizard any wings.

The curious lizard found itself stuck after squirming its way into a Red Bull can for an energy-hit in Kalgoorlie, Western Australia.

A police officer took a break from his usual duties to help his scaly cold-blooded friend in what became a struggle between wiggling the lizard and making sure his little head was not sliced on the sharp can.

Eventually the officer wiggled the trapped lizard free, rescuing him from his fizzy tin prison.

With an encouraging nudge on the tail, the lizard was free to once again roam free.

The lizard’s desperate quest for a drink could be in-part due to Kalgoorlie’s semi-arid hot summer climate.

Social media erupted with people glad to see the lizard was saved and scolding the ‘litter bug’ who discarded the can in the first place.

‘Our police go above and beyond, what a great copper – hat off to you officer,’ one person wrote on Facebook.

Another became quite enamored with the officer and simply replied: ‘My hero.’

Lucky lizard! Eventually the officer wiggled the trapped lizard free, rescuing him from his fizzy tin prison. With an encouraging nudge on the tail, the lizard was free to once again roam free
