Female police officer suffers horrific injuries after being ‘repeatedly punched and kneed in the face by a man who was threatening his neighbours’

  • Man was reportedly yelling and threatening residents on a street in Halekulani

  • He allegedly punched the woman in head before he was eventually restrained 

A policewoman has been left with horrific cuts on her face after a crazed man allegedly punched and kneed her in the head while she was trying to arrest him. 

The senior constable and a colleague were trying to detain the man on a street in Halekulani on the Central Coast after reports he was yelling loudly, threatening locals and trying to enter their gardens at 7am on Tuesday. 

When the officers spoke to the man, he allegedly became aggressive and punched the 47-year-old woman in the head several times.

He was restrained before he allegedly lunged at the senior constable again.

The police officers used OC spray but it failed to stop him and the man allegedly continued to punch and knee the officer in the head before he was restrained and arrested.

The senior constable suffered cuts to the face and was treated at the scene before being taken to Wyong Hospital for further treatment.

The 28-year-old man was taken to Wyong Police Station where he was charged with two counts of enter enclosed land not prescribed premises without lawful excuse, stalk/intimidate intend fear physical etc harm (personal), assault police officer in execution of duty cause actual bodily harm, resist or hinder police officer in the execution of duty, and intimidate police officer in execution of duty without actual bodily harm.

He was refused bail to appear in Wyong Local Court today.
