The infamous ‘poo jogger’ has resigned as a council adviser on ‘land use’ and community harmony after being fined $400 for repeatedly defecating outside a unit block during his early morning runs.

Andrew Macintosh quietly quit his role with a Brisbane City Council planning board late on Wednesday, following political pressure for him to be sacked.

A day before being fined $400 for public nuisance, the married, 64-year-old company director resigned from the Inclusive Brisbane Board amid a defecation scandal in his own suburb.

‘Mr Macintosh yesterday resigned from the honorary position he held on the Inclusive Brisbane Board,’ a council spokeswoman told Daily Mail Australia.

Macintosh, who was sprung defecating outside a unit complex on Logan Road a few blocks from his Greenslopes house, advised the council on ‘land use and community cohesiveness’.

Fellow board member Karen Dare, the chief executive of Community Queensland, said Mr Macintosh had been on the board since 2017.

‘We meet once a quarter and he has been on that group for maybe a year,’ she said.

Asked he if he been a constructive contributor, she said: ‘Yes. Everybody contributes from their area of expertise.’

The council’s Labor Opposition Leader Peter Cumming said Brisbane Lord Mayor Graham Quirk took too long to sack Macintosh from his council position.

‘Mr Macintosh’s position on the Inclusive Brisbane Board was clearly untenable from the moment that photo surfaced. I’m amazed the Lord Mayor didn’t stand him down immediately,’ Cr Cumming said.

Confirmation of his resignation came after he resigned from his seven-year role as the national quality manager of retirement village company, Aveo.

‘Until yesterday, Aveo Group was not aware of the incidents concerning/charges laid against Mr Macintosh,’ Aveo spokeswoman Anne Punter told Daily Mail Australia.

‘He has tendered his resignation to the company today and is no longer an employee of Aveo Group.’
