In applying for bail at the Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on Monday, the court heard Pusey had previously been caught on dash cam rocketing along the Eastern Freeway a month before he was pulled over by police along the same stretch of highway.

Detective Senior Constable Aaron Price said a check of Pusey’s phone revealed he had bragged about his speeding and planned to go even faster.

The alleged texts were sent to a mate about a month before the tragedy happened on April 22.

In the text axchange, Pusey allegedly claimed to have attached technology to his Porsche that rendered it invisible to police radars.
