Tottenham, on the other hand, were statistically the worst performing side to make it through to the knockout stages.

Mauricio Pochettino’s men completed a remarkable survival act with their draw against Barcelona on Tuesday night after being on the brink of an early exit after having picked up just one point from their first three games.

Their eight points and goal difference of minus one puts them 17th in the overall table, two places behind Napoli, who did not qualify.

Interestingly, Manchester United put up better numbers than two of their English rivals, Spurs and Liverpool, placing 12th in the table.

Bayern Munich and Barcelona sit right behind Porto at the top being the only two other teams that remained undefeated.

AEK Athens, meanwhile, sit rock bottom, after losing all six of their games in Group E.
