A Portuguese motorcycle racer has revealed that he married his stepsister and they are expecting their first baby together. 

MotoGP rider Miguel Oliveira, 26, tied the knot with his long-term partner Andreia Pimenta, 25, after previously keeping their relationship secret for 11 years.  

The happy couple, who have known each other since the age of 13, met as Miguel’s father married Andreia’s mother when they were in their teens.

However, the step-siblings’ friendship blossomed into something more as the two got older and they had a secret relationship for 11 years before going public in 2019.

The happy couple announced they were expecting a baby together a few weeks later, sharing a snap of the baby bump along with an ultrasound to Instagram

Miguel shared pictures from his wedding day in July on Instagram, writing: ‘This weekend we made the most important curve of our lives. We sealed our love through marriage and we want to share it with you.’

‘I feel happy and lucky to share my life with my wife who is my other half. Thank you all #justmarried #love’ 

Weeks later, the pair announced the pregnancy news to their thousands of Instagram followers, with a picture of the couple cradling the baby bump along with an ultrasound snap. 

Soon-to-be father Miguel captioned the post, saying: ‘Our lives will carry out with a special company. A job that will last the rest of our journey. Anxious to meet you my love.’

The successful sports star previously opened up about falling for his step-sister speaking to Portuguese television presenter, Manuel Luis Goucha.

According to The Sun, Miguel said: ‘Before love there was a great friendship. We grew up together.

‘At some point we realized that it was more than a friendship, it is a very strong love.

‘We were going to get married this year, but that weekend I had a race and we had to postpone it next year.’

However, their friendship blossomed into something more as the two got older and they had a secret relationship for 11 years before going public in 2019

Miguel’s father Paulo revealed the news that his son got engaged to his second wife Cristina’s daughter in September 2020.

Speaking to Spanish sport newspaper Marca, he said: ‘I’m happy that my son is getting married to the woman of his life.’

Miguel from Almada in the south of Portugal competes as a professional motorcycle racer and became the first Portuguese rider to win a World Championship after a win at the 2015 Italian motorcycle Grand Prix.
