Post Malone stage dives into crowd but no one catches him

Rapper Post Malone has dubbed himself the ‘Jack Black’ of stage diving after flinging himself into a concert crowd, only to end up crashing painfully to the ground when nobody in the audience caught him.

The rap star has been making a big name for himself lately, working with the likes of Kanye West and Justin Bieber – but, as the saying goes, what comes up must come down.

And did he ever during a show in St Louis on Sunday, when he took a running leap into the crowd and instead of dramatically body surfing back to the stage, he ended up bruised and embarrassed.

Video of the hilarious moment was posted on Instagram and Post Malone (pictured) himself joked about it on Twitter

Going, going, gone! Rapper Post Malone suffered an embarrassing incident when he dived into the crowd at a St. Louis concert, only for the audience to let him crash to the ground

Unfortunately for Post, this is not an incident he is going to be able to forget any time soon, either, as the entire thing was caught on camera by several fans.

Video of the stage dive, shows the break-out hip-hop artist jumping from the stage with the mic in his hand, during a break in the music.

He leaps into the throng of screaming fans, but is swiftly swallowed up as he lands heavily on the floor around the feet of audience members who had apparently moved out of the way instead of trying to catch him.

Despite the embarrassment of the situation, however, one video shows Post on the floor continuing to rap along with the song as fans reach down to pull him up.

Post was eventually helped to his feet by security, not before screaming fans captured every moment on their phones.

Many of the videos taken of the dive reveal that Post didn’t stand a chance however, simply because his crowd was packed with people holding up their phones, leaving them less than ready to perform some sudden lifting.

In fact, one of the fans who had been too busy filming to catch his idol took to Twitter after the fact to apologize, posting his own video showing how he dove out of the way and writing: ‘My bad.’

Post himself has taken the whole incident in stride, joking with his Twitter followers that his experienced mirrored that of a famous failed movie stage dive.

‘Felt like Jack Black in School of Rock tonight when I staged dived and nobody caught my fat a**,’ he said, adding that the dive may had been more successful if his body was more like that of 5’4 hip hop star Lil Uzi Vert.

And no one needs to worry about the rapper’s ego being too bruised as he has also celebrated a record-breaking success this week with his single Rockstar featuring 21 Savage, which shattered Apple Music’s single week streaming record with over 25 million streams.

DJ Khaled’s I’m the One, which featured Quavo, Chance the Rapper, Lil Wayne and Justin Bieber, was the previous holder for worldwide single week streams.
