Powerball $50million winner in Ipswich Queensland has STILL not come forward

Powerball $50million winner has STILL not come forward – as players are urged to check their tickets and ticket is narrowed down to one major city

  • The remaining Powerball winner still hasn’t collected their $50million prize
  • The Lott narrowed the mystery winner’s location down a suburb in Brisbane
  • The $150million prize was also won by a Sydney dad and a Brisbane man

One lucky Australian is the nation’s newest multi-millionaire after winning last week’s Powerball jackpot, but they still haven’t claimed their prize.

Three people won a share of Powerball’s record-breaking $150 million draw last Thursday, taking home $50 million each.

While a Sydney dad and a Brisbane man came forward to collect their winnings, the third share has remained unclaimed.

The Lott said they had narrowed down the search for the mystery third winner to Ipswich, just south-west of Brisbane’s CBD.

Spokesperson Lauren Cooney has urged everyone in the area to check their tickets.

‘If you discover you’re holding the division one winning entry, hold on tight to that ticket and phone us as soon as possible so that we can start the prize claim process,’ she said.

Queensland Times reported the mystery winner bought their ticket from a newsXpress newsagent in Brassal, Ipswich.

The lucky local wasn’t registered so officials have no way of contacting them, but shop owner Dave Bassi said he believed the ticket holder might be an elderly customer who hadn’t paid attention to the news.

‘It could be someone who comes in once a week who is a regular customer,’ he said.

‘Hopefully they’ll come along this week. It could even be someone who has done it for the first time and they’re not familiar with the game.

The Sydney dad who won a share of the prize woke up last Friday morning to discover the life-changing news.

He said he was still trying to get his head around the fact he’d woken up a multi-millionaire.

‘I am speechless. How would anyone feel? I don’t even think this is real at the moment.

‘My god. I just told my wife. She was getting the kids ready for school and she does not believe me. I only bought my ticket last minute when I was at work yesterday because everyone else was buying them.

‘I think I might have to take the day off work to calm down and think about how I will use this prize. There’s no way I’d be able to concentrate.’

The Brisbane man said he didn’t sleep after finding out he had won one-third of the jackpot.

When asked how he planned to enjoy his incredible $50 million prize, the man was overwhelmed with emotion.

‘Well I’d love to build a house,’ he said. ‘I’d really love to take some time off work to spend some quality time with my family and do some travelling.

‘The rest, I’m going to have to wait and see.

‘I need to let the news sink in.’

In addition to the three big winners, there were also eighteen division-two winners who scored almost $126,000 each.

Ms Cooney revealed the division one win is the second this year for Ipswich after a local mum scored $40 million in Oz Lotto in June.

The winning numbers were 26, 4, 17, 5, 18, 8, 31 and the Powerball was 9.

The prize jackpotted from $100million after no winners claimed the first division prize in the previous draw.

Lottery officials said around half of all adult Australians entered the Powerball draw, which eclipses the previous record prize of $107.6 million which went off in January.
