Pregnant Florida woman fatally stabs attacking pit bull

A pregnant Florida woman fatally stabbed her pit bull when it attacked two other dogs and then turned on her mother and sister.

The pit bull, named Buster, started attacking two other pit bulls at the family’s Florida home on Friday, police say.

When 45-year-old Heidi Cooper tried to intervene, Buster attacked her and also turned on Cooper’s two children: 14-year-old Meghan Tokay and 22-year-old Sierra Wilson.

Wilson then stabbed the dog at the home in Safety Harbor, near St Petersburg on Florida’s Gulf Coast.

The family was treated for bites and other injuries, police said.

Cooper and Tokay were treated for puncture wounds and lacerations, while Wilson emerged from the ordeal with minor scratches, WFLA reports.

Buster was known to be aggressive and was kept away from the other two pit bulls at the home, police said.

WFLA reports that police were called to the home about Buster a month ago.

A family friend, Nikki Cagen, told the station that Buster was Wilson’s boyfriend’s dog.

Cagen told WFLA: ‘He was the sweetest, sweetest dog ever. I would come in the house. He would come sit on my lap like a little puppy.’

Wilson wrote on Facebook: ‘Like i told the reporters , i would get another pit in a heartbeat.

‘I won’t hesitate to have my other two around my son.

‘I don’t regret what i did, it was either him or my mom.

‘Nobody knows what they would do in that situation.

‘People can talk and say this and that & say what they’d do, but no.

‘I promise, nobody knows what they’d do if their dog of three years turned for literally no reason.

‘None at all.

And if it had been Simba or Bleu that did this, i would’ve done the same thing. He’s a 100lbs there was no pulling him off.’
