Pregnant Skye Wheatley, 24, reveals she had 'a bit of a scare' at ultrasound

Pregnant Big Brother star Skye Wheatley has revealed she experienced a ‘bit of a scare last week’ after going for an ultrasound scan.

The 24-year-old Instagram model announced over the weekend she is expecting her first child with boyfriend-of-eight-months Lachlan Waugh.

She told NW magazine on Monday: ‘The [sonographer] couldn’t find the nasal bone of the baby… and that can be the first sign of Down syndrome.’

Skye added: ‘But it was there when we went back for our 13-week scan, so everything is good and the baby is healthy.’

The former reality TV star also revealed she was drinking alcohol ‘every day’ while on holiday in Bali before realising she was pregnant.

Explaining that drinking ‘a few glasses of red wine’ had made her feel unusually hungover, she added: ‘Obviously my body was like, “You need to stop drinking”.’

Skye and Lachlan are planning a gender reveal party in the coming months, but don’t know at the moment if they are having a boy or a girl.

Elsewhere during the interview, Skye claimed she is looking forward to jumping back into her fitness routine after giving birth December.

‘I definitely want to get back into exercise as soon as possible. But in saying that, I actually need to get more active now. Being active throughout your pregnancy helps you bounce back.’

On Sunday, Skye and Lachlan took to Instagram to announce they were expecting their first child together after eight months of dating.

‘We’re pregnant! Couldn’t think of anything better than starting a family with this handsome man,’ Skye wrote, adding that she was three months along.

The couple only debuted their relationship in November 2017.
