Premier League confirm that February TV fixtures will be released no later than December 20 as top English clubs await European knockout draws

The televised Premier League fixtures for February will be announced no later than December 20, it has been confirmed.

Fans are awaiting their team’s fixture changes before being able to book travel and accommodation for away trips, and the league have now confirmed their plans regarding the announcement of BT Sport and Sky Sports matches.

With the Champions League and Europa League knockout stage draws taking place on Monday 16 December, the Premier League will then work out their own fixtures in the following days before announcing them before the end of the week.

A statement on the Premier League’s website reads: ‘This will allow the League to take into account the outcome of UEFA’s knockout draws, before allocating Premier League fixtures accordingly.’

Among the February fixtures there will be the first ever mid-season player break, with the matchweek 26 fixtures split across the weekends of 7-10 February and 14-17 February. 

This break comes into play following ‘positive discussions with the FA and EFL regarding the football calendar’, the Premier League say.
