President Donald Trump sends Twitter into a frenzy

President Donald Trump has committed a cardinal sin in the eyes of fashion connoisseurs by wearing a mismatched suit.

For a meeting Wednesday with Sen. Tim Scott of South Carolina to discuss race relations after protest rallies in Charlottesville and Virginia, Trump wore a pair of black suit pants, a navy blue blazer and a bright blue tie.

In true Internet style, Twitter erupted with their opinions on his epic fashion faux pas.

Twitter user Paul Lander tweeted:  ‘The internet is dragging President Trump for wearing a mismatched suit. Yup, jacket made in China pants made in Indonesia.’

YouTube and podcast personality Tyler Oakley said: ‘petty tweet: obama wore a tan suit & got dragged by the crusties at fox news yet trump wore a navy jacket & black pants SO HELP ME GOD.’

Oakley is talking about another time when Obama wore a tan colored suit in 2014 and again the Internet went wild – even GQ trolled the former President.

In turn, Scott was applauded for his style, wearing a black jacket, matching trousers, a gold tie and some bold pink and blue dress socks.

Political writer Emily C. Singer wrote: ‘Is Trump wearing a navy suit jacket and black pants?!?!?! This is the next tan suit gate.’

Meanwhile, aside from Trump’s fashion faux pas, he sat through a 40 minute meeting with Scott who said there was ‘no time of tension,’ according CNN.

However, in the wake of the Charlottesville controversy last month Scott did say ‘I’m not going to defend the indefensible.’

He added that the President’s ‘moral authority’ was ‘compromised,’ after his response and reaction to the atrocity.

Although, Scott did optimistically tell reporters he aims to focus on ‘the future’ as opposed to the comments Trump made after Charlottesville.

‘The Charlottesville comments were the foundation for the conversation but the discussion was about making progress in this nation,’ Scott said.
