Pret A Manger has been mocked on social media over its attempt to honour its former CEO with a creamy dessert that has so far proved off-putting for customers.
The high-street food chain recently launched the £2.35 pavlova product called Clive’s Passion Pot across its stores in the UK.
But social media users have been quick to allude to the unsavory connotations of its name.

One user, @Sara_Rose_G, wrote: ‘Oh to be a fly on the wall in that marketing meeting…’
Another, @Foreversideways, added: ‘Clive’s passion pot mmmmmm.’
A third, @leesavage1973, said: ‘He must be knackered.’
The product is described on Pret A Manger’s own website as being: ‘Passion fruit curd and lightly whipped vanilla cream, topped with rich white chocolate ganache and mini meringues, in honour of Clive, our CEO for 16 years.’
It adds that the creamy dessert is ‘freshly prepared’.
Clive Schlee was the CEO of Pret A Manger from 2003 up until October last year.
He decided to step down as head of the cafe’s 550 stores and pass the baton over to Pano Christou.
Speaking about his decision to leave, Mr Schlee said: ‘There is never an easy time to stop being CEO of a wonderful company but with the completion of our EAT deal and the roll out of the Pret Allergy Plan now is a good time for a new CEO to take Pret on the next stage of its journey.
‘I’m really pleased Pano is taking over.
‘He knows our shops through and through and will keep Pret true to the values that have underpinned its success.’
Pret A Manger has been contacted for comment.
