Prince Andrew facing fresh pressure to speak to the FBI as Ghislaine Maxwell faces TWO new charges

Prince Andrew was seen leaving Windsor Castle today as he was dragged into the US court battle engulfing Ghislaine Maxwell today after she was charged with new offences linked to Jeffrey Epstein at a time when the paedophile was socialising with the royal.

The Duke of York is facing renewed calls to be questioned by the FBI after developments in the child sex inquiry overnight expanded the breadth of the investigation.

Maxwell, who was Epstein’s longtime associate and former girlfriend, faces new charges of sex trafficking conspiracy and sex trafficking of a minor in the eight-count indictment, as well as earlier charges that include perjury.

An amended indictment against Maxwell now covers alleged crimes stretching from 1994 to 2004 in New York and Florida, including accusations that she paid the girl, known as Minor Victim-4, hundreds of dollars for each sexual act with Epstein. The girl was 14 when the grooming began, the indictment said.

She had previously pleaded not guilty to helping Epstein recruit and groom three teenage girls for sex between 1994 and 1997 in New York. Maxwell, 59, has been held in a jail in Brooklyn since her arrest last July.

The time frame of the new allegations has expanded to between 1994 and ‘at least’ 2004, which covers the period where Epstein was associating with powerful men like Prince Andrew and Bill Clinton.

During this period Prince Andrew became friends with Epstein and allegedly had sex three times with one of his victims, Virginia Roberts, allegations the Duke denies.

Neither Prince Andrew or Mr Clinton is mentioned in the court documents but it significantly raises the prospect of them both being brought up at Maxwell’s trial.

Prince Andrew’s friendship with paedophile Jeffrey Epstein and his girlfriend Ghislaine

1999 – Andrew first meets Epstein, reportedly introduced through his friendship with Ghislaine Maxwell, the daughter of newspaper tycoon Robert Maxwell.

Andrew welcomes Epstein to the Queen’s private Scottish retreat in Aberdeenshire. Andrew later says he sees Epstein ‘infrequently’, adding ‘probably no more than only once or twice a year’.

2000 – Andrew and Ms Maxwell are seen on holiday with Epstein at Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago Club in Palm Beach, Florida.

Epstein and Ms Maxwell attend a party at Windsor Castle hosted by the Queen to mark Andrew’s 40th birthday, the Princess Royal’s 50th, the Queen Mother’s 100th and Princess Margaret’s 70th.

2001 – Virginia Roberts claims to have had sex with Andrew ‘three times, including one orgy’, with the first encounter allegedly taking place in Ms Maxwell’s London townhouse. Ms Roberts claims to have had sex with Andrew on two more occasions, at Epstein’s New York home and at an ‘orgy’ on his private island in the Caribbean.

2008 – Epstein admits prostituting minors and is sentenced to 18 months in prison.

2010 – Epstein is released from jail. Andrew is photographed with the disgraced Epstein in New York’s Central Park.

Footage emerges years later, reportedly shot on December 6 2010, showing him inside Epstein’s Manhattan mansion, from where he is seen looking out from a large door.

2011 – The duke quits his role as UK trade envoy after the fallout from the Central Park photos.

2015 – Buckingham Palace denies Andrew has committed any impropriety after he is named in US court documents related to Epstein. A woman, later named in reports as Ms Roberts, alleges in papers filed in Florida that she was forced to have sex with Andrew when she was 17, which is under the age of consent in the state.

In April the claims against Andrew are struck from US civil court records following a federal judge’s ruling.

2019 – Epstein is found dead in his jail cell on August 10, having killed himself after being charged with sex trafficking.

2020 – Ghislaine Maxwell is found in New Hampshire and arrested

2021 – Ghislaine Maxwell was hit with two new charges over her alleged role in paedophile billionaire Jeffrey Epstein’s abuse of underage girls.

The allegations increase the time period of the criminal allegations against Maxwell to between 1994 and ‘at least’ 2004. Previously it was until 1997.

The indictment also reveals that prosecutors intend to seize Maxwell’s assets if she is convicted . During a bail application she revealed that she and her husband Scott Borgerson are worth $22.5million.

The new indictment dramatically increases the legal peril faced by Maxwell, who has pleaded not guilty to all the allegations so far.

The 24-page document says ‘beginning at least in or about 2001’ Maxwell and Epstein ‘enticed and recruited, and caused to be enticed and recruited, minor girls to visit Epstein’s Palm Beach residence to engage in sex acts with Epstein, after which Epstein, Maxwell, or another employee of Epstein’s would give the victims hundreds of dollars in cash.’

Maxwell is accused of calling victims to ‘schedule an appointment for the victim to massage Epstein’ at his Palm Beach home.

The indictment says: ‘When a victim initially arrived at the Palm Beach Residence, she would be greeted by an employee of Epstein’s, including, at times, Maxwell.

‘The victim would then be escorted to a room with a massage table.

‘Once inside, the victim would provide a nude or semi-nude massage for Epstein who would himself typically be naked. During these encounters, Epstein would escalate the nature and scope of the physical contact to include sex acts such as groping and direct and indirect contact with the victim’s genitals’.

Maxwell ‘facilitated Jeffrey Epstein’s access to minor victims knowing that he had a sexual preference for underage girls and that he intended to engage in sexual activity with those victims,’ the indictment says.

The new accuser, referred to a Minor Victim-4, allegedly met Maxwell at Epstein’s Palm Beach home when she was around 14.

Maxwell subsequently interacted with her on ‘multiple’ occasions even though she knew she was under 18 at the time, it is claimed.

These interactions took place between 2001 and 2004, the indictment alleges.

Clinton flew on Epstein’s plane on trips to Asia and Africa in the early 2000s and the other passengers included actors Kevin Spacey and Chris Tucker.

The indictment says: ‘Maxwell groomed Minor Victim-4 to engage in sexual acts

with Epstein through multiple means.

‘For example, Maxwell asked Minor Victim-4 about her family and other aspects of her life.

‘Maxwell also sought to normalize inappropriate and abusive conduct by, among other things , discussing sexual topics in front of Minor Victim-4 and being present when Minor Victim- 4 was nude in the massage room of the Palm Beach residence’.

Maxwell allegedly offered to help the girl get a passport for foreign travel but she declined.

On ‘multiple occasions’ Maxwell sent the girl ‘gifts’ including lingerie from an address in Manhattan, which appears to refer to the townhouse she was living in at the time.

Maxwell also allegedly encouraged the girl to recruit ‘other young females to provide sexualized massages to Epstein’, it is alleged.

Minor Victim- 4 brought ‘multiple females, including girls under the age of 18’ and was paid ‘hundreds of dollars in cash’, it is claimed.

Previously Maxwell, 59, had been charged with six counts including enticing minors to travel to engage in illegal sex acts.

All those six counts remain and with the additional two, Maxwell now faces a total of eight allegations.

Earlier this month Maxwell was denied bail for a third time after US District Judge Alison Nathan ruled again that she was a flight risk.

Maxwell had offered to give up her British and French citizenship and offer all her $28.5m assets she and husband Scott Borgerson owned as a surety.

The superseding indictment includes a new section called ‘forfeiture allegations’ which says that if convicted Maxwell will be forced to give up ‘any property, real and personal, that was used to commit or facilitate the sixth count’.

The indictment says that if any of the property has been ‘transferred to a third person’, or ‘placed beyond the jurisdiction of the court’ or ‘commingled with other property which cannot be subdivided without difficulty’ then the prosecution will still ‘seek forfeiture’ of the property.

The provisions appear to be a clear reference to how Maxwell used a series of trusts to move her assets to the ownership of Mr Borgerson, as detailed in financial disclosures she filed to the court.

Maxwell is due to go on trial in July.
